I spent some time yesterday at the pool practicing the Sculling roll with paddle held horizontally on the foredeck. The video below shows four attempts, first at regular speed and then at 25%. I can clearly see the angle of the blade working for the majority of the time, then it goes wrong when I am approaching the surface. Also my body position seems too far back for a forward finishing roll….
Much more practice needed.
