Jacquelyn and I spent a long weekend visiting our favorite North Shore destinations. Much hiking, photography, great food, and a visit to a spa.
This view of the Grand Marais Harbor wall and lighthouse is one I have revisited numerous times due to the lovely lichen in the foreground.
Viewed from the Light house the sunset produces a lovely contrast with the navigation marker
I was fascinated by a picture I had seen of a wave captured at high speed so I experimented with capturing water falls at higher shutter speeds to see the water details.
However I am always taken by the effect of slowing down the shutter speed and watching the water trails
The massive Pigeon River Falls at Grand Portage provided a great spectacle, the water plunging several hundred feet then exploding up to reach the observation deck.
We scouted out the area where I will be leading a trip soon. The Tettegouche State Park, Baptism River Launch.
Before finally visiting Split Rock where we hope to paddle too.
We were treated to some whitewater kayaking on our last day
