Prior Lake Paddle

This afternoon five of us went to Prior Lake to enjoy the 75F air temperature and the 34F water. Today was the day after Ice Out on the lake and we got to enjoy the water pretty much alone, we saw only three fishing kayaks the entire trip. We went south west around the two main islands and then returned north eastwards, eventually looping around the northerly island and returning to the Sandy Point kayak ramp to complete a short and sweet trip. The conditions were fabulous and Mike O finish it off nicely with a a chilly roll.
My parents are visiting on their way back to the UK and enjoyed the opportunity to blow the cobwebs out after a long drive north from Florida. The picture on the right clearly shows the advantage of sitting in the back…… never let it be said that mum doesn’t pull her weight in the kayak.
Tomorrow I am back at Bush Lake with Ron S. more training before the Apostles.
