The Kingukkut Tunusummillugu is a seriously weird roll. I can’t imagine why you would want to roll in backwards with your paddle stuck behind your neck. But if you do, this roll will help you get back up again. Don’t bother trying this roll until you are confident with your reverse sweep rolls. The paddle behind the neck position means you have less support from the paddle. I have no problem making the roll work, but at times it is not very elegant. Nothing that a lot of practice wont fix.
In competition you are not allowed to cup the end of the paddle, you must have it held across your palm. Unlike most rolls, you are not required to return to the start position to gain full marks.
